Hello Smart People, we’ve discussed Metaverse before. That word has been everywhere since last October when social media company, Facebook changed its corporate name to Meta. Metaverse brings back memories of Second Life, a virtual community in the early 2000s where participants could create a virtual life for themselves and participate in virtual activities. A virtual universe creates virtual investment opportunities. Digital land prices are booming.
A company that has raised money to buy distressed condominiums in the physical world launched a fund earlier this year aimed at investors looking to buy virtual land. The company plans to buy packages in the various online metaverse and turn them into hotels and virtual stores, and other uses aimed at increasing its value among crypto enthusiasts. The art of NFT has become one of the most vibrant digital assets this year, and Thomas Olsen, partner at Bain and Co, recently said he sees all assets tokenized 20-30 years in the future.
The Metaverse has a bright future, and entrepreneurs, investors, technical leaders, and futurists have sought to capitalize on the Metaverse’s potential for entertainment, experimentation, social connection, and ultimately, profit. There are three ways you can invest in the Metaverse directly. Buy metaverse tokens, buy non-fungible tokens (NFT) in-game, and buy virtual land in the metaverse (also sold as NFT).
How can you invest in the Metaverse? You need to create a crypto wallet and load it with currency for investments into the Metaverse and then you need to create an account with the game you want to make purchases from and link your crypto wallet to your account. For example, sign up to Decentraland for virtual real estate, Axie Infinity for characters and terrains, Sandbox for buying / selling artistic creations, etc.
We can also invest in Metaverse indirectly, for example by buying shares in organizations that are actively involved in the development of Metaverse and that are associated with Metaverse. Organizations could be involved in the manufacture of virtual reality (VR) glasses, networking technologies, 3D rendering applications, etc. And by investing in the Metaverse Index, the Metaverse Index captures the entertainment, business, and gaming trends that are advancing into the virtual universe.
With virtual real estate in the open metaverse, we can implement peer-to-peer transactions and use smart contracts to automate and accelerate these legal processes. Smart contracts can be programmed in such a way that they trigger actions and execute orders immediately if necessary. Real estate assets such as buildings, stocks or funds, as well as debt or equity, can be automated in a new way and executed in minutes instead of weeks or months.
Virtual real estate can unlock liquidity through decentralized global markets that enable tradable assets and enable metaverse assets to be used as extractable assets. Collateral to drive innovative lending methods in decentralized finance (DeFi). In this way, users may one day move digital and NFT assets in and out of virtual worlds.
Are you interested in starting to invest in Metaverse, Smart People? And in your opinion, how fast will the Metaverse move in 2022?
